Compare
How SynapseOrch compares to what you’re probably using.
Most teams weigh us against Zapier, Make, n8n or Lindy, or against just using ChatGPT or Claude. Here is where each is the better choice, including the rows we lose. What we say about each tool is from its own pages, checked on October 11, 2026.
Your options
Which one fits the job?
Zapier
Best at: Connecting 9,000+ apps with simple automations.
Choose Zapier if your automations are mostly simple hand-offs between apps, and you need the long tail of them.
Choose SynapseOrch if AI does the real work in each step, a person signs off from the chat thread on every plan, and the plan never bills past its limit by default.
SynapseOrch vs ZapierMake
Best at: Detailed visual scenarios across 3,000+ apps, from $9 a month.
Choose Make if you build intricate data flows, care most about price per credit, or need EU hosting.
Choose SynapseOrch if approvals that wait for days are part of the job (Make’s approval app is Enterprise only), and answers must cite your documents.
SynapseOrch vs Maken8n
Best at: Technical teams who want depth, code and 500+ integrations.
Choose n8n if your team writes code, wants its 13,000+ templates, or needs EU hosting.
Choose SynapseOrch if the person running it isn’t an engineer, and you want OSI open source rather than a source-available license.
SynapseOrch vs n8nLindy
Best at: An AI assistant for your inbox, meetings and Slack.
Choose Lindy if you want a personal assistant that works things out as it goes, with SOC 2 and HIPAA today.
Choose SynapseOrch if the job has to follow the steps you approved, your sign-off is a step in the workflow, and you pay per workspace, not per person.
SynapseOrch vs LindyChatGPT or Claude, directly
Best at: One-off questions, drafts and research, with someone at the keyboard.
Choose them if the work is ad hoc and a person drives each conversation.
Choose SynapseOrch if a team relies on the job every week: it follows the steps you approved, on any model, asks before anything goes out, and keeps a record of every run.
Building it in code
Best at: Full control, for an engineer who will own it for good.
Choose code if an engineer will build and maintain it, and nobody else needs to change it.
Choose SynapseOrch if people who aren’t engineers need to read, change and approve the workflow. Your code can still start a run through the API or the MCP server.

Why SynapseOrch
What choosing it gets you
No vendor lock-in
A model is a resource you rent, not a dependency you built on. Switch it mid-conversation, run three in one workflow, or none. Langflow and Flowise tie you to LangChain; LangGraph and CrewAI tie you to their code.
CapabilityUsDifyLFFWn8nSwitch a model mid-conversation, from the UISynapseOrch: YesDify: PartialLangflow: PartialFlowise (archived): Partialn8n: NoThe bill is decided, not discovered
Per-step model choice, control flow that calls no model, and a plan that stops at its allowance. Autonomous frameworks bill you for the agent’s wandering.

The route is decided before the run, and branches only where you drew a check. Auditable, replayable, debuggable, and a human can step in mid-run from the channel they already use.

What an agent knows and remembers is data you can read, edit and reset, with the passages an answer used shown alongside it.

Adding an AI feature with LangGraph or LangChain means touching the code every time. Here the graph, the prompt and the model are edited in a builder, and the next run uses them.

AGPL-3.0, no licence check, no telemetry, no feature gates. Self-hosting is the same engine, and Cloud is the same engine operated for you.
The licence table below says what each one lets you do.
Licensing
What you are actually agreeing to
| SynapseOrch | AGPL-3.0 (OSI open source) |
| Zapier | Proprietary, hosted only |
| Make | Proprietary, hosted only |
| Lindy | Proprietary, hosted only |
| Dify | Apache 2.0 (with cloud restrictions) |
| Langflow | MIT |
| Flowise | Apache 2.0 (archived August 2026) |
| n8n | Sustainable Use License (source-available, internal use) |
AGPL-3.0 is a deliberate choice, not an oversight. You can run, modify and deploy SynapseOrch freely; what the licence prevents is someone taking it closed and reselling it as a service without contributing back.
